Latest From Lillian

It is always a pleasure to open with appreciation for those who made our last gathering so successful.  I’d like to thank the lovely models –Donna Branson, Kay Palko, Pat Rathbun, Dot Ryan, and Lucy Woodall – who took part in the sensational Spring Fashion Show by JANET’S of THOROUGHGOOD, and to everyone whose contribution made the event so enjoyable.  The creative  St. Patrick’s Day centerpieces were a  big hit at the Princess Anne Country Club.

We had a great turn-out with a special welcome to three month old Montana,  the Great Granddaughter of Nordleen Crews.  She is invited to join us again any time!

Thanks to our hard-working program planners, Darlene and Judy, who have an eye on the important historical events that made this area famous, our next luncheon will feature Docent Al Mitchell, from the Mariner’s Museum.  Mr. Mitchell will educate us on the “USS Monitor Museum” at Newport  News.  Please mark your calendars for this special event  on April 12 at 11:30 a.m.  The location will be Atlantic Shores.

For those who were unable to attend the last luncheon, our members voted for a donation to Vetshouse, Inc. in the amount of $1,000.00.  For more information, please read Charities Chairperson Betty Steere’s column in this issue.

As yet, despite their committed efforts, our ROWS Nominating Committee has not been able to identify a new slate of officers.  Please call Marian Watson, Nordie Crews or Anna Eidson if you are able to serve.  ROWS NEEDS YOU NOW!

Hope to see you at our April Luncheon.

     Spring greetings to everyone!

Lillian Campbell
