What a lovely time we
had at the Broad Bay Country Club! The table settings were festive,
the Pineapple Boats and Chocolate Special cool and scrumptious. Many
thanks to our talented Darlene Nelson and the terrific staff at the Broad
Bay Country Club for all their work.
All of our guests seemed
to enjoy that splendid respite on a hot day. Most of all, we were
fascinated with, and magnificently entertained by, the Sojourners’ presentation
of “FOLDS OF THE FLAG.” How often have we observed “Reverees” and
the “Pledge of Allegiance” without realizing how meaningful the Stars
and Stripes really are. The Sojourners gave us a first-hand look
as to why they have such a fine reputation.
It is time for membership
renewals if you wish to have your name in our new Yearbook which will be
completed shortly.
Look for a lavender Yearbook
before long. By popular demand we are staying with a bright color.
We hope delivery delays with the newsletter have been corrected.
However, if there continues to be late delivery, please call Mary Hawker
at 467-4735 or me at 498-8056.
Our next luncheon will
be at Atlantic Shores on August 10, 2006 at 11:30. In trying to provide
something of local interest, our Program Chair Team has lined up a BACK
BAY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE Talk. This combination should be of
great interest to all of us. I look forward to seeing you there,
Keep safe and stay cool.
