The Latest From Lillian

Memorial Day is approaching fast, and plans for summer vacations are coming into sharper focus.  ROWS board members are working hard to finalize a well-paced calendar of events for the coming year.  Stay tuned for detailed information…

Our May luncheon at the Princess Anne CC was as lovely as ever.  Our guests speakers were Judy Ready from the Chisholm House and Carl Thompson from the Sojourner’s Freedom Foundation.  Each received a check for $500.00  for the charity they represent.

Roses were given to our outgoing and incoming ROWS  officers.  Kay Palko was recognized for her outstanding leadership as president.   We are grateful for her faithfulness to this organization.

In addition, newly installed officers received small red roses in a spice jar, while Parliamentarian Irma Porter explained the significance of “Spice of Life”.  She creatively chose a unique spice to match each officer’s responsibility.  The spice she selected for me is Allspice to represent compassion.  I will certainly aspire to serve in that spirit!

Heartfelt thanks to all who have stepped up to serve.  You are the ones that make our society strong.  We still have a few exciting positions available.  Please call me at 498-8056.

I hope to see you at the June luncheon at Little Creek.  Be among the first to see the new fashions coming our way.
